IFC IFC File
IFC (Industrial Foundation Classes) file extension is common for AEC (Architecture Engineering Construction) software e.g. Revit from Autodesk or SmartPlant 3D by Intergraph. The IFC file format can store model geometry, measurement units, material colors with the alpha value, assembly structure with component names and generic BIM (Building Information Modeling) data. However Autoconverter, our IFC file converter, currently allows only to open and read 3D geometries from IFC files.
When you import.ifc files into SOLIDWORKS, the file geometry is imported but the resulting SOLIDWORKS model has essentially no features. Click File Open. For Files of Type, select IFC 2x3. To set general options, click Options, set the options, and click OK. Select the file and click Open.

DWG DWG AutoCAD File
DWG (AutoCAD Drawing) binary file format is developed by Autodesk company but it's supported also in other software packages e.g. ZWCAD, BricsCAD and IntelliCAD. Indeed DWG files are the standard now in the overall CAD industry. To support DWG files conversion into other 3D file formats we have developed the Automesher Application which runs as a plugin in your favorite DWG editor. It means that you need to have your DWG drawing editor installed first before using our software to convert to or from DWG file format.
